| Years after Batman made
his debut, Barbara became Batgirl. Batman wasn't amused and wanted
her to give it up. However, he saw her as a competent person and
decided to take her under his wing. Years later, feeling that crime
fighting wasn't as fun as it use to be, Barbara hung up her cape
and cowl. The Joker ended her career permanently when he shot her
in the spine and left her paralyzed legs down.
Despite this setback, Barbara has continued in her fight against crime. She became a secret operative under the name Oracle for the group called the Suicide Squad. She now helps Batman, Nightwing and other DC hero's in their fight against evil by providing them with information to help their causes and gets secret funding from both Bruce Wayne and the JLA. |
